Kunstforum Berliner Volksbank Stiftung - opposite the main entrance to the Zoo - is periodically hosting art exhibitions, opened daily from 10 to 6pm. This could be the advantage for early visitors in a cold Sunday morning, looking for some new cultural and artistic discoveries (think about me now).
In addition, I was also driven by the curiosity to find out more about the culture of the old city of Naqa. For centuries, German scientists and archaeologists explored the African continent contributing significantly to the development of our knowledge about old cultures and civilizations.
My favorite exhibit: the solar watch |
The current exhibition is presenting fragments of statues, bas-reliefs and artifacts from the Kingdom's time an interesting journey where religion, daily life and culture are one. A 20-minute movie about the works aimed to reconstruct and rebuilt the old habitat could be watched in the lobby and it's included in the 6 Euro price for visiting the exhibition.
