For the first time, I went to the Carnival of Cultures, facing the rush, the crowds and the too many bottles of everything. From the U-Bahn Mehringdamm, people were going up and down in waves, at Mustafa the line was longer than usual and if you wanted to establish a meeting point in the area - as I did - no chance at all to find anybody. At 4 o'clock when I landed in the area it was hard to breath or move so I run as fast as possible till the end of Yorkstrasse for enjoying a bit of air and a good perspective.
What was on the "cultural" menu for today? Dances from all over the world - people outside the performing groups rarely wanted to get involved, music, some political messages, the Atomkraft movement. And many, many people fully enjoying the shows, the beers and the colors.
Another day of carnival in Kreuzberg. To be continue tomorrow - but without me...
